Scheme Outline

This is a fantastic opportunity for food related graduates who want to be part of a team that will influence what is on supermarket shelves and the nation’s eating habits. Bakkavör is a major chilled food group that is known for market leading innovation, so you will need to demonstrate that you can mix and match flavours and food trends, and are up to date with what is happening on the food scene of retail stores and restaurants, and have a degree of kitchen competency.  You will need to be a strong team player who will work with determination and tenacity, be receptive and supportive to others, and committed to continuous personal development.

The scheme involves two one year assignments in separate sites with differing product portfolios and customers.   These roles could be anywhere in the country doing a real job with real responsibility.  It is anticipated that after two years you will take your first junior management role as a Senior Technologist or Product Manager.

You will be expecting or have recently completed a food related degree, or have a minimum of one year’s work experience in a concept development role within food manufacturing or similar relevant experience.  It is vital that you have a genuine passion and knowledge of food and trends, with a high standard of practical kitchen experience.

The scheme includes a programme of courses covering sensory analysis, culinary skills, presentation skills, leadership and management, category management, and commercial and market trends.
