Supply Chain Graduate Programme

  • Contract type: Permanent

  • Salary: 25k - 25k
  • Discipline: Graduate
  • Bonus: starting salary + bonus + great benefits

Heinz brands are loved the world over and we want to make sure it stays that way; that's why we're always thinking of new ways to delight our customers and we're after bright minds like yours.

What the programme entails
This two-year programme consists of a series of supply chain projects and at least three different placements covering Logistics, Head Office Planning and Manufacturing Operations.

Of course, everybody is different, so early on we'll sit down with you and draft a personal development plan that reflects your own aspirations. We'll then use this to choose projects and placements that stretch your capabilities and take you outside your comfort zone. And conduct regular performance reviews to make sure you're heading to where you want to be.

For everyone, the programme starts with a week-long corporate induction at our Head Office, where you'll get to meet and spend time with our other graduate joiners. After that, you can look forward to a thorough induction into your specific workplace and plenty of on-the-job coaching, as well as formal training to boost your leadership skills and business knowledge. You'll also be allocated your very own Mentor from the senior management team. And given the chance to complete the Heinz Supply Chain Academy Training through Accenture.

Who we're looking for
In terms of academic qualifications, we'll be looking for at least 280 UCAS points plus a 2:1 or above in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing / Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management or Logistics. From a practical standpoint, you'll need to be familiar with supply chain principals. And because you could be based at any one of our UK & Ireland sites, you'll need to be fairly flexible with regard to where you work.

Just as important, however, will be the personal skills and qualities you bring. First of all, you've got to be highly organised, and great at planning, prioritising and managing your time. Strong powers of analysis and good head for figures are obviously essential. You've also got to be comfortable working with a wide range of different people and confident that you can get your point across clearly, both face-to-face and in writing.

A bit about Heinz
As a brand, Heinz needs little introduction. But what you might not be aware of is our approach to business. Because we believe in adopting an intense customer focus, we're driving innovation and developing our existing products in all sorts of original and interesting ways. It means we're set to launch major new initiatives with our products and brands. The challenges won't stop there though.

We're going to invest even more in our people. As well as honing the expertise we've already got on board, we're looking to attract a whole new pool of talent to Heinz. That way, we can keep the way we do things just as fresh as our products.
