Engineer - Two Year Development Graduate Scheme

Coldwater manufacture over 40 different species of chilled and frozen fish and shellfish for the following customers Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Morrisons, ASDA, Iceland and Aldi. What we are looking for Fresh is what Coldwater is aiming for and the same applies when we're looking for future Managers within our dynamic business. The freshest talent bringing fresh ideas to the business. <li>You will be expecting, or will have attained, a 2:1 degree or above or more probably undertaken the 4 years Master in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering and ideally have one years experience within a manufacturing environment. </li>
</ul>
From day one the Engineer will have a clear role within the business these roles will rotate through the first 2 years. The objective will be to give as broad an exposure as possible to different products, processes and customers. Typical assignments are:

<li>Shift Support Engineer (responsibility for monitoring equipment performance and helping your colleagues to resolve any issues identified) </li>
<li>Process Engineer (involving the further development or installation of new equipment for our products)</li>
<li>Engineering Systems (helping develop and maintain systems for the business) </li>
</ul>
Development Program A tailor made program of education, training, coaching and development which will give the individual the opportunity to develop a range of technical, professional, business, management and people skills. The program will encompass elements of directed study; mentoring; project work with guided written assignments and selected courses, but the major emphasis will be on experiential learning. Support A senior development mentor (program manager) as a regular point of contact during the 2 year program and one or two 'specialist' development mentors with high levels of skill and experience within the business or specialism within the specific function, who is able to provide you with technical and business support and guidance. Start Date: Opportunities to start in April 2010 and September 2010 Salary: £20 - £22k Hours of work: Nominally 37.5 hours per week flexible as required. Holidays: 25 days per year plus statutory days Relocation package: Bed & Breakfast provided for up to 4 weeks if needed. Human Resources Graduate Training Scheme

<h3>Scheme Outline</h3>
The HR AMS scheme provides the opportunity to gain practical work experience and relevant training including working towards the CIPD within 3 years.
The scheme will offer you the opportunity to undertake three placements in different business units providing an in depth understanding of HR within Bakkavör. This will provide you with the necessary skills and experience to allow you to reach a key HR management role within 5 years of joining.
This scheme involves interaction with all areas of the business, including manufacturing, commercial, marketing, supply chain and product development. It is essential that you are business focussed and have strong interpersonal and influencing skills. The pace is fast and so excellent organisational skills are essential. As you will be involved in a large blue chip manufacturing business your impact will be visible and significant. It is a fantastic experience!
Criteria: You must be expecting or have attained at least a 2.1 Honours degree, ideally in business, human resource management or related degree or have relevant work experience.
Duration: 3 years - commencing Summer 2010
Training: Fully funded CIPD Professional Development Scheme; there are four modules to the PDS which on successful completion results in the Post Grad Diploma in Personnel and Development. The sponsored study is carried out through a flexible learning programme delivered by MOL who have several study centres throughout the UK which allows flexibility in location during the scheme. In addition you will receive structured on the job training and mentoring and be invited to attend skills training including management and leadership, presentation skills and psychometric testing
Content: 3 ‘real jobs’ within different business units, giving experience in different product areas and business types. The roles will cover the core skills including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, employment law, pay management, development and succession.
Location: Placements could be at anyone of our sites in the UK.
Salary: £22,000 - 2 weeks B&B or rent plus reasonable removal costs
